History of StFX

St. Francis Xavier University was founded in 1853 and is nowadays one of the oldest university in Canada. At the beginning, as most of the inhabitants came from British islands, the language spoken in Nova Scotia was Gaelic. The university began to welcome and to teach to these people. From the 20^th century, its name became to be spread all over the country and is quickly become a national well-known university.

Nowadays, half from students come from every parts from Canada and North America, and graduates in StFX come more than 140 countries all over the world. This university is well recognized, since she is considered as being one of the best Canadian university, among the undergraduate universities. It is also well known for its great and amazing campus life.
